International Dog Sledding “Russian North” was held on January 13-14 in Totma, Vologda Region.

The international sled dog race “Russian North-2018” attracted 30 participants from Russia and Belarus and 250 dogs. The participants were able to enjoy the unique and unforgettable experience of a journey along the snowy forests on dogsleds and the majestic winter scenery on the bank of the Sukhona River.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dzhambulat Hautov arrived in Vologda on a two-day official visit.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Hautov met with Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov. The focus of the meeting was on development of linen industry and sectors of agribusiness.

International Dog Sledding “Russian North” is to be held on January 13-14 in Totma, Vologda Region.

The international sled dog race “Russian North-2018” will attract participants from Russia, Belarus and Estonia. The participants will be able to enjoy the unique and unforgettable experience of a journey along the snowy forests on dogsleds and the majestic winter scenery.

About 180,000 people visited Vologda Oblast during New Year and Christmas holidays.

From December 31, 2017 to January 8, 2018 large-scale New Year and Christmas celebrations took place in the cities and towns of the Vologda Region. Celebrating this wonderful holiday is one of the most heartwarming traditions. It is passed on from generation to generation, bringing people together. 177,400 people visited the Vologda Oblast during New Year and Christmas holidays (that is two times higher than in 2017).

21,000 people visited Vologda State Museum-Preserve during New Year holidays.

Vologda has much to offer the discerning visitor. The Vologda Region has a remarkable place on Russia's tourist map. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, the region, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential.

Vologda enters top ten Russian cities for trips at Christmas.

The city of Vologda takes the ninth place in the list of Russia's most popular destinations at Christmas time in 2018, according to a study conducted by e-service for searching hotels Tvil.ru.

A project called “Vologda-New Year Capital of Russia’s North” will be launched in Vologda on December 30.

In 2018, the honour to become New Year’s Capital of Russia’s North fell upon Vologda for the fifth year in a row. Vologda’s authorities have planned a number of major festive actions and events. The celebrations will take place from December 30, 2017 through January 8, 2018.

On December 28th Vologda Oblast Governor paid a working visit to Vytegra District situated in the north-western part of the Vologda Oblast.

Within the framework of the visit to the District of Vytegra, Oleg Kuvshinnikov participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony of a new digital school that will be able to accommodate up to 150 children in the 11-to-17 age bracket next academic year.
