Vologda Oblast Governor, head of the Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements Oleg Kuvshinnikov together with St. Petersburg’s Governor Georgy Poltavchenko opened St. Petersburg International Health Forum.
The meeting of the Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements is devoted to the 5th anniversary of the Association.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation published the list of 500 best schools of Russia. Three educational institutions of the Vologda Region are on the list of the 500 best schools of Russia-2015. The Vologda multi-discipline lyceum is in the Top 25 of the best schools, which showed high educational outcomes in the 2014-2015 academic year. Two more educational establishments – Vologda school #1 and Cherepovets Lyceum are included into the list of the 500 best schools of Russia-2015.
Established in 1996, the university works to provide students with a wide array of services and facilities. Together these services and facilities aim to create an improved scholastic environment, promote an active social life and provide a higher level of quality education.

It has become customary for Vologda's officials to take part in celebrations pertaining to the triumphant end of the Carpathian-Dukla Campaign. The current visit is timed to coincide with the 71th anniversary of the campaign, one of the fiercest battles of World War II aiming to liberate Europe from the German fascists.
