Vologda Oblast Governor took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 20th International exhibition-fair "Russian Wood". Vladimir Bulavin, Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the North Western Federal District also arrived in Vologda to take part in the exhibition and to convey his greetings to its organisers and attendees.
Russian Wood - 2015, held in Vologda from 2-4 December, is hosting exhibitors from over twenty Russian regions and six foreign countries.
To begin with, Mr. Kuvshinnikov briefed on socioeconomic situation in the region in 2015.
The discussion also focused on establishment of a new production facility complex for deep wood processing in a special economic zone of the Vologda Oblast. According to Mr. Kuvshinnikov, this will be a closed-cycle facility to produce bleached pulp (1,2 mln tonnes a year) both for domestic use and export. The Governor said some 5 million cubic metres of woodland has been reserved for the project, expressing confidence that after the construction of the facility the full wood processing cycle will be located in the region.
The international scientific and technical conference “Urgent issues of timber sector development” is scheduled for December 1-2 at the Vologda State Technical University.
WAKO World Championships in Point Fighting, Light Contact, Full Contact and Musical Forms were held at CityWest, Dublin, from 21st to 29th November, 2015 with 779 competitors coming from 60 different countries.
Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev and RUSAL CEO Vladislav Soloviev took part in the opening ceremony of an aluminium fluoride production plant in Cherepovets at PhosAgro-Cherepovets.
The Russian Wood provides a continuous dialogue between Russian and foreign governmental agencies and businesses, along with production facilities modernisation and assistance in attracting investment.
Today Mr. Kuvshinnikov will deliver a budget report at the Vologda Legislative Assembly.
Dmitry Rogozin has been Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, in charge of defense and space industries since 2011.
Increase in production output of Vologda’s enterprises for the needs of the military-industrial complex of Russia, nuclear and space industry, aircraft building and shipbuilding was in the highlight of discussion with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin in Moscow.
