Vologda Region Governor attended memorial ceremonies marking the 74th anniversary of full liberation of Leningrad from Nazi siege.

On January 27th Russia marks a memorable date - the 74th anniversary of the lifting of Leningrad siege which lasted for 872 days. For these days the residents of besieged Leningrad, overcoming hunger, cold and bombings, heroically defended their hometown. There were Vologda-born people among them. The siege of Leningrad by the Nazi troops started in September, 1941 and on January 27, 1944 it was completely liberated.

Vologda will become home to XIV International drama festival "Voices of History" from June 19 throughout June 27, 2018.

The Voices of History is organized jointly with the RF Ministry of Culture, the RF Union of theatrical workers, the Vologda Oblast Government and the administration of the city.

Head of Department of Culture and Tourism has presented Vologda’s tourism opportunities at the Russian-Greek Tourism Forum in Moscow.

The Russian-Greek Tourism Forum in Moscow is organized by the RF Minister of Culture and is arranged within the framework of “Greece-Russia Year of Tourism”. The forum aims to establish a strong connection between the two countries in order to increase mutual tourist flow.

The city of Vologda takes the third place in the list of most popular destinations in Russia's North-West, according to a study conducted by e-service for searching hotels Tvil.ru.

Artyom Kuznetsov of Vologda Region, Russia came third in the men's 500 metres races of the Speed Skating World Cup arranged in Erfurt, Germany.

High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova arrived in Vologda to participate in an interregional conference on civic education in Russia.

Participating in the conference under the heading “The Role of a Human Rights Commissioner in civic education of Russians” were Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov along with other state and local officials, and human rights commissioners from 25 Russian regions.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov took part in the IX  Gaidar Forum 2018 on January 16-18.

The Gaidar Forum took place from January 16th to 18th at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
