Georgy Filimonov presented Vologda Region's initiatives on economic and tourism development to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The meeting took place within the framework of the large–scale forum "Days of the Vologda Region in the Republic of Belarus", which aims to present the potential of the region in all areas of socio-economic development.

Vologda's technical fat export to Poland exceeded 4,000 tons.

Since the beginning of 2025, 4 200 tons of technical fat have been exported from the Vologda Region to Poland. In the same period of 2024, 3 400 tons were exported. Thus, technical fat exports increased by 22%.

Days of Vologda Region in the Republic of Belarus are held on August 24-25.

Export of timber from Vologda Region to Uzbekistan increased threefold.

Vologda’s museums are offering its residents free access to all permanent exhibits on August 20.

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, exhibition halls and galleries are free of charge in the Vologda Region. The museum admission is free for Vologda’s schoolchildren and students and residents of the region. Entry to the permanent collections of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve and Vologda Picture Gallery is free; while charges may apply for special exhibitions.

Russian Hunting festival will be held on the territory of the  Museum of Architecture and Ethnography Semyonkovo on August 30.

The festival is organized to promote the traditions of the Russian North and development of event tourism in the Vologda Region.

More than 28.000 cubic meters of timber products have been exported from Vologda Region to India.

From January 1 to August 15, 2025, employees of the Northwestern Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Department monitored the delivery of 499 shipments of lumber and sawn timber with a total volume of 28.800 cubic meters from the Vologda Region to India.

First Museum of Russian America marks 35th anniversary of its foundation.

The year 1990 saw the opening of the Kuskov Memorial Flat in Tot’ma, a small town even by the Vologda Region’s standards. The town once prided itself on its salt making and the seafaring merchants who traded in Siberia and America. It was a native of Totma, Ivan Kuskov, who founded Fort Ross in California.
