"Winter of the Russian North" project will end on February 28.
A large-scale project "Winter of the Russian North" was launched on the initiative of Governor Georgy Filimonov. Hundreds events covering different genres and styles of music, crafts and theatre are held within the framework of the "Winter of the Russian North" project.
XI Russian Folklore Festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" celebrates traditional culture with music, dance and crafts. Every year the festival takes place in one of the districts of the Vologda Region. The municipality obtains this right on a competitive basis. In 2026 Russian Folklore Festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" will be held in Vologda District.

Exports of timber from Vologda Region to India increased by 50%.
From January 1 to February 13, 2026 the North-Western Interregional Administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor monitored the export of over 80 shipments of lumber and sawn timber (total volume of 5,100 cubic meters) from our region to India.
The Vologda Region is to set up a demonstration center for wooden products in Xi'an at the end of spring 2026.

Export of wood chip from Vologda Region to Belarus has doubled.
Since the beginning of 2026, 70 tonnes of wood chip have been exported from the Vologda Region to the Republic of Belarus.
