Export of timber products from Vologda to Vietnam increased by 45%.
Since the beginning of 2025, exports of timber products from the Vologda Region to Vietnam have reached 26.200 cubic meters. This is 45% more than in the same period last year, when 18,000 cubic meters were delivered to this country.
According to Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov, the enterprises of the Vologda Region and Belarusian companies started to implement agreements concluded at the Vologda Region Days in the Republic of Belarus, which took place in August.
"This year, we have increased export volumes by 38%. As a result, we have provided the region with the status of one of the best exporters of the North-West of Russia. Companies from the Vologda Region are constantly expanding into international markets. RF President Vladimir Putin set the goal to increase Russia's non-resource, non-energy exports by two-thirds by 2030, compared to their 2023 level, as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. The region continues to fulfill this task," said Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region.

Vologda is competing for "Cultural Capital of Russia 2027" title.
The Cultural Capitals competition began in 2023 and annually takes place in Russia. During the event, a prestigious title is awarded to one city in the country by a panel of experts. Cities with at least 250,000 inhabitants are invited to participate.
