Trade, economic, tourism and cultural potential of the Vologda Region will be presented on November 18-22 in the People's Republic of China. The event will be held with the support of the Russian Embassy in Beijing.
The New Year project “Ded Moroz Train” is being implemented by Russian Railways together with the regional administration. Ded Moroz in his mobile residence will travel to Russian cities, congratulate children, fulfill their wishes. In every city where the Ded Moroz Train will make a stop, visitors to the stations will enjoy an entertaining festive program with the participation of artists and animators.
The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda. This year it is devoted to the 85th birthday anniversary of Valery Gavrilin.
Every year the city of Vologda becomes home to the fair and exhibition "Russian Wood".
The Russian Forest, an exhibition for innovation technologies to be applied in the timber industry, in production of technological equipment for forestry and manufacture of wood and wood-working articles, will be held in Vologda on December 4-6.
The public holiday was established in honour of events of 1612 when Russian voluntary troops commanded by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from foreign invaders.

Vologda’s ice-cream was delivered to Mongolia and Senegal.
Under the contracts signed, the “Vologda Ice-Cream”, Vologda-based ice cream manufacturer, exported 33 tons of its ice-cream to Mongolia and Senegal in October 2024.
