The members of the delegation from Jilin, a province of the People’s Republic of China situated in the central section of China's northeast region are representatives of business circles and top leadership of the province. Its objective is to get acquainted with the socio-economic potential of the region and hold negotiations concerning investment cooperation between China and the Vologda Oblast.

From now on Strasbourg, the parliamentary capital of Europe, will boast a square named after the Russian city of Vologda. The opening ceremony was held on November 3rd on the banks of the Canal du Rhône au Rhin with the participation of Mr. Roland Ries, Mayor of Strasbourg and Mayor of Vologda City Eugeny Shulepov, as well as Consul General of Russia in Strasbourg Alexander Burdin.

A group of Native Americans led by Robin Joy, a curator of the Fort Ross National Park came to Tot’ma to make a tour of the city where Ivan Kuskov was born, to see the sights of it, to get acquainted with the Russian traditions, and to learn to make Russian souvenirs. In a local museum the American guests painted souvenir distaffs. They were treated to cloudberry jam and pies cooked according to old recipes.

The exhibition under the heading “Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker - mystery, figment and truth” opened in the Liechtenstein National Museum in Vaduz. The Liechtenstein National Museum is showing a temporary exhibition of icons of St. Nicholas, items from the collections of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve, the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, Veliky Ustyug Museum, the Museum of Dionisy's frescoes in Ferapontovo and Tot’ma museum association.
