Representatives of Vologda branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the Fort Ross National Park (California, USA) are to meet in Vologda on October 28.

The participants of the meeting - politicians, scholars, museum workers, artists, Native Americans, including the Kashaya Pomo, professors and students will exchange views on preserving the heritage of Russian America, strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two states.

Coast Miwok Native Californians are to arrive in Tot’ma on October 27.

A group of Native Americans led by Robin Joy, a curator of the Fort Ross National Park will come to Tot’ma to make a tour of the city where Ivan Kuskov was born, to see the sights of it, to get acquainted with the Russian traditions, to learn to make Russian souvenirs and taste cloudberry jam.

The presentation of the colorful restoration of the interior of a sturdy log and wooden house from the 19th century, the so-called Kopylov house took place on October 16th. The Kopylov house joined an outdoor museum on the outskirts – the Museum of Architecture and Ethnography in Semyokovo five years ago.

Week of French Films to start in Vologda at Salyut Cinema House.

The demonstration of seven French films in Vologda will be held on October 16-22, 2014 in Salyut cinema house. All films will be shown in original language with Russian subtitles.
