The International Museum Day is celebrated annually on May 18. The purpose of the holiday is to draw public attention to the importance and the role of the museums in the life of an individual and the society as a whole.
Over 120,000 people of Vologda Region attended parades, demonstrations and other memorial events to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War.
On Victory Day, Vologda Oblast Governor and his parents joined the Immortal Regiment march in Vologda.
Today the leadership of the region, Great Patriotic War veterans, representatives of public organizations, enterprises and institutions, clergy, students of Vologda’s schools and universities arrived at Vvedenskoye cemetery to lay flowers.
Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov held negotiations with deputy head of the Moravian-Silesian Region Ivan Strakhon.

The presentation of the electronic "memory book" which attempts to record the name and fate of every Vologda’s soldier who died in World War II was carried out in the Vologda Oblast Government on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Victory Day.

Vologda’s Governor opened a new kindergarten in Vologda.
The significant event occurred in Vologda - the opening of a new kindergarten. The preschool institution is designed for 350 places. The new 3-storey day care centre will become home for several groups of kids from two and six years of age, and a group for children with speech and language disorder. The new kindergarten is accommodated with musical and sports halls, two sports grounds, and a swimming pool.
