Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Preserve is among the prizewinners of the Museum Geek Festival of Museum Multimedia.

The Museum Geek Festival is a new event that has brought together multimedia projects from museums all over the country and makes Russian history accessible for everyone. The museum competition was confined to the internet, with participants voting for their favourite project online. There were a total of five nomination categories: digital collections, exhibition multimedia, games, multimedia books, multimedia films and presentations.

Vologda’s residents will be able to see a collection of European lace.

Lace works from private collections of German collectors of Annelise Wienands and Marianne Stang will form the basis of a new exhibition project "Ladies in Lace" that will open on April 13 and last till November.

36 theatres have applied to participate in XIII International drama festival Voices of History from June 26 throughout July 2, 2016, Vologda.

The festival Voices of History, which emerged in 1991 as a review of the performances of professional theatres in the historical and architectural ensemble of the unique environment of the Vologda Kremlin has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region, a favourite festival of all theatre-goers. In 2003 it received an international status. The theatre festival is held every two years in June.

VI International Gavrilin Festival is to be held in Vologda.

The festival which lasted from April 18 through April 20, 2016 is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda. It is a significant cultural event not only for Vologda City but also for Russia as a whole.
