The event is organized by the RF Ministry of Economic Development, Vologda Oblast Government, Vologda Region Development Corporation and Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Support. The international conference is arranged with an active backing of the Russia-Britain Chamber of Commerce, the Russian-German Chamber of Foreign Trade, the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), embassies of foreign states in Russia, Enterprise Europe Network – Russia Consortium and other government-related organizations that promote mutually beneficial trade and investment.

Deputy hetman of the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic Ivan Strahon stressed that the Czech Republic is an active participant of this international exhibition that is an important industry event where key issues of Russian and international forestry are addressed and where heads of forestry enterprises have an opportunity to engage in open dialogue with governmental agencies.

Vologda Oblast Governor took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 20th International exhibition-fair "Russian Wood". Vladimir Bulavin, Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the North Western Federal District also arrived in Vologda to take part in the exhibition and to convey his greetings to its organisers and attendees.

To begin with, Mr. Kuvshinnikov briefed on socioeconomic situation in the region in 2015.
The discussion also focused on establishment of a new production facility complex for deep wood processing in a special economic zone of the Vologda Oblast. According to Mr. Kuvshinnikov, this will be a closed-cycle facility to produce bleached pulp (1,2 mln tonnes a year) both for domestic use and export. The Governor said some 5 million cubic metres of woodland has been reserved for the project, expressing confidence that after the construction of the facility the full wood processing cycle will be located in the region.
