On February 16 Natalia Kirshina, head of the Museum of Ethnography and Architecture in Semyonkovo, a division of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve was invited to participate in the Big Country program telling about life outside Moscow, events and personalities in the country’s history, the self-organization of regional community, the solution of civil problems and inter-ethnic relations.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov took part in a meeting of the Coordination Council of the Vologda branch of the all-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society”. Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, honoured chairman of Russia's non-governmental organization "Russian Geographical Society” Yuri Vorobyov also participated in it.

Prodexpo, the largest specialized exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe is held at Moscow’s Prodexpo, February 8-12, 2016. Promoting high-quality foodstuffs to the domestic market, the Prodexpo trade show contributes to implementing high-priority federal projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the Russian citizens.

The incorruptible relics of St. John are restored in the Holy Virgin Cathedral, also known as Joy of all who Sorrow, a Russian Orthodox cathedral in the Richmond District of San Francisco. It is the largest of the six cathedrals of the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia. The relics will be fetched to Russia upon the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill.
