Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov summed up the results of two years’ work of the youth government and put forward a number of tasks for the future.

The video conference meeting with participation of RF Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, RF Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Mikhail Men and top leadership of Russian regions had a focus on implementation of the May 2012 Presidential Executive Orders, namely construction of new dwelling houses for resettlement of Russian residents from dilapidated and hazardous dwelling houses.

The main objective of the visit is to discuss Russian-Finnish partnership ties and present investment potential of Cherepovets City. Taking part in the visit events are high-ranking officials of Cherepovets City Hall, representatives of the Cherepovets Investment Agency and entrepreneurs.

Vologda will become home to XIII International drama festival Voices of History from June 26 throughout July 2, 2016.

Natalia Maistrenko, a basketball coach from Veliky Ustyug will go to the USA as a finalist of the “SportsUnited: Basketball Ambassadors of Today and Tomorrow” on March 20^th, 2016.

“SportsUnited: Basketball Ambassadors of Today and Tomorrow” is a full scholarship exchange opportunity, funded by the SportsUnited Division of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and administered by the Russian American Foundation (RAF).

Gates to the North is an inter-regional event, show and exhibition for the tourism industry. It is held annually with an active backing of the RF Ministry of Culture, RF Tourism Agency, Association of Russian tour operators and Vologda Oblast Government.

In March Vologda Oblast Government and the Vologda branch of the all-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society” will launch a new competition aiming to select treasures of Russian North.

The Governor started his visit with a local library that was renovated not long ago. Oleg Kuvshinnikov inspected the building and communicated with the readers. The Vologda Oblast Governor noted that now it is one of the best libraries of the Vologda Region. It is a venue for numerous cultural events. Nikolsk’s library takes advantage of new technological advancements and provides an on-line archive of the proceedings of some encyclopedias and reference books. It also provides an access to the state services portal.

The international conference “Wooden house-building and wood-processing” is to be held in the Vologda Region for the fourth time. A lot of exhibitors and visitors are expected to come to Cherepovets to attend the exhibition to see the variety of houses made of timber and logs and frame-panel houses.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov took part in the Day of the Horse, an annual event that is open to the public and family friendly. The Day of the Horse took place for the 13th time in 2016.
