Vologda Oblast Government officials led by Deputy Governor Oleg Vasiliev arrived in Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic on an official visit. The main objective of the visit is to participate in an international conference “Healthy Cities”.

The Vologda Oblast Governor and local government officials are included in an official delegation of the Russian Federation.

Vologda will host the 36th International FISAE Congress on August 22-27, 2016.This decision was taken at an international ex-libris event in La Pineda, a holiday resort on the Costa Dorada, Spain's “Golden Coast”.

The 11th International Forum Senior Generation 2016 was held between 30 March, 2016 and 2 April, 2016. This event is clear proof of the great strides forward on behalf of the city of St. Petersburg in ensuring that older Russian citizens age actively, productively, and above all, successfully.

The international conference “Wooden house-building and wood-processing” is to be held in the Vologda Region for the fourth time. A lot of exhibitors and visitors are expected to come to Cherepovets to attend the exhibition to see the variety of houses made of timber and logs and frame-panel houses.

International competition for performers on wind and percussion "Northern Rhapsody" is to be held in Cherepovets from April 15 through April 17, 2016.

The Museum Geek Festival is a new event that has brought together multimedia projects from museums all over the country and makes Russian history accessible for everyone. The museum competition was confined to the internet, with participants voting for their favourite project online. There were a total of five nomination categories: digital collections, exhibition multimedia, games, multimedia books, multimedia films and presentations.
