Ded Moroz greeted international space crew
The Russian equivalent of Santa Claus, Ded Moroz, paid a visit to the Flight Control Center in the Moscow region town of Korolyov to wish the crew of the International Space Station a happy new year.

A delegation from Vologda Region led by First Deputy Governor Alexei Sherlygin arrived in Prešov Region, Slovakia. On behalf of Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov Mr. Shelygin received an award "For significant contribution to the development of cooperation and strengthening of friendly relations”.
On December 20, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin held a session of the intergovernmental commission on issues of “Safe city” system development. The Safe City concept that enables solution of transport security issues was in the highlight of the discussion.
The Vologda Region is a highly-developed industrial region, it has an export-oriented economy. In 2015 the external trade turnover of the Vologda Oblast amounted to almost USD $4 bln. The Vologda Region cooperates with more than 120 countries. Export deliveries account for 85% of foreign trade turnover of the region.
The museums will receive funding to support the delivery of their winning projects. The total competition fund of the Museums of the Russian North project competition is 1,5 million rubles.
Russian Wood is a high-level, independent platform for both Russian and international forestry professionals and investors to exchange ideas.

Ded Moroz and Joulupukki met at Russian-Finnish border
Just before New Year’s and Christmas holidays Russian Ded Moroz set off on a traditional pre-New Year trip across Russian regions and foreign countries.
The meeting was chaired by Nikolai Tsukanov, Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the North Western Federal District.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov presented orders, medals and honorary title certificates to outstanding Vologda's residents for their tangible contribution to socio-economic development of the region.
