Vologda’s residents selected 35 treasures of Russian North.
In March the Vologda Oblast Government and the Vologda branch of the all-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society” launched a new competition aiming to select treasures of Russian North.
The videoconference was held with several regional heads to discuss relief efforts following spring floods in the Urals, Siberian and Northwestern federal districts.
The competition gathered about 150 musicians from Russia and the CIS in Cherepovets.
The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.
The event is held annually with the aim of strengthening interregional and international ties in the timber industry. It is organized by the Vologda Oblast Government, Department of Economic Development of the Vologda Oblast, Cherepovets’ city hall, Cherepovets Information Agency, Agency for Urban Development and the Association of Wooden House-Building of the Vologda Region.
