Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, four Russian Regions (Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Leningrad and Karelia Republic) signed a cooperation agreement with participation of the RF Ministry of Industry.
The festival Voices of History, which emerged in 1991 as a review of the performances of professional theatres in the historical and architectural ensemble of the unique environment of the Vologda Kremlin has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region. The theatre festival is held every two years in June. In 2003 it received an international status.
A delegation from the Vologda Oblast headed by Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov met with a Czech delegation led by Vladimir Remek, Czech ambassador to Russia.

Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Mr. Kuvshinnikov met with top leadership of Sistema, the publicly-traded diversified holding company in Russia and the CIS. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss development of timber industry in the Vologda Region.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is Russia's premier annual event for investment and interaction between business and government. The main events of SPIEF 2016 will take place at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. The venue features thousands of representatives from dozens of countries.
The U.S. Consulate General in St. Petersburg decided to plant American musical seeds in Vologda six years ago with the help of its Russian partners at the Vologda Oblast Government, Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region, and the Vologda State Museum-Preserve. The festivals were devoted to bluegrass, blues, Conjunto music and jazz.
This decision was taken at an international ex-libris event in La Pineda, a holiday resort on the Costa Dorada, Spain's “Golden Coast”.
