This year, the Ded Moroz Train is to set off for a New Year journey on November 19. The train will stop at Vologda, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Chita, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg and other cities.

The New Year project “Ded Moroz Train” is being implemented by Russian Railways together with the regional administration. Ded Moroz in his mobile residence will travel to Russian cities, congratulate children, fulfill their wishes. In every city where the Ded Moroz Train will make a stop, visitors to the stations will enjoy an entertaining festive program with the participation of artists and animators.

The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda. This year it is devoted to the 85th birthday anniversary of Valery Gavrilin.
