On May 30th Vologda joined National Forest Planting Day.

The National Forest Planting Day was proclaimed eight years ago. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.

Tulane professor William Brumfield (USA) is to give a lecture on Russian architecture at Vologda Region Research Library on June 4.

William Craft Brumfield is one of the leading western specialists on the history of Russian architecture, professor of Slavic studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, and honorary fellow of both the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences and the Russian Academy of the Arts.

Vologda Puppet Theatre “Teremok” is taking part in “Magic World of BRICS Puppet Show”, an international art festival,  Makhachkala, Dagestan.

The International Festival of Puppet Theatres in Dagestan started on May 26 and it will last till June 1. Puppet artists from Brazil, South Africa, India, China and Russia participate in the festival and they will build a "magic world" with their puppets.

On June 11th the famous pair - Italian bandoneon virtuoso Gianni Iorio with pianist Pasquale Stafano will give a concert at Vologda Philharmonic Society.

Kirillov (Vologda Oblast) will play host to an international photo festival on June 7-10.

The international photo festival has been created by the Russian Photo Union. Its aim is to gather photographers from around the world, turning the town of Kirillov into an international centre of artistic expression focusing on photography. It will involve international artists from such countries as Russia, Ukraine, France, Germany, the Chinese People’s Republic and Kazakhstan.

On August 9-11, the small town of Totma in Russia’s Vologda Region will celebrate Russian America Day at the same time as Fort Ross in northern California, once the southernmost outpost of the Russian empire in the Americas and founded by Totma native Ivan Kuskov.

“Summer in the Kremlin” covering different genres and styles of music will kick off in Vologda on June 4.

The project “Summer in the Kremlin” was launched in 2002. It alternates with the International Drama Festival “Voices of History”. Every two years the festival welcomes Vologda’s citizens and guests of the city with a special atmosphere.

On May 23rd Vologda Oblast Governor worked in the District of Sokol, situated in the centre of the Vologda Region on both banks of the Sukhona River. Sokol, located 35 kilometres off Vologda, is a classical mono-city. It was built in 1932, its main branches of industry being wood processing, pulp and paper industry.

Russia's first representative office of Kolster, one of Europe's most experienced companies in the IP sector opened in Cherepovets, Vologda Region.

Timo Helosuo, CEO of Kolster, a Finland-based company, and Dmitry Zaitsev, head of Cherepovets branch of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs signed an agreement at Cherepovets City Hall on May 23rd.

Totma Museum Association is among the finalists of INTERMUSEUM 2019 International Festival of Museums.

INTERMUSEUM 2019 International Festival of Museums will open at Manege Exhibition Centre in Moscow on May 30. More than 300 museums from our country and abroad will be represented at the Festival.
