Overview
Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of the Vologda Oblast works in accordance with the Clause of the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade. The Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade is the main local government body responsible for carrying out the investment policy, foreign economic activity, trade and economic relations. It is responsible for co-coordinating the activities of federal and regional executive bodies in relation to foreign investment, domestic and international trade, preparing concession agreements and production-sharing agreements, infrastructure development.
The Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade develops and maintains foreign economic relations for the Vologda Oblast fostering partnerships that increase global visibility, cultural understanding and economic growth.
Within its competence, the Ministry performs the following functions:
- investment activity development;
- scientific and innovative activity development;
- Vologda’s trade and economic relations, as well as economic integration with the Russian regions and foreign states;
- control for liquor market of the Vologda Oblast;
- control for observance of normative and legal documents;
- assistance to enterprises and companies of the Vologda Oblast aiming to participate in international exhibitions, fairs, presentations and any other activities;
- preparation of agreements, contracts, memorandums, minutes of deliberations about foreign economic relations;
- organization of events aiming to attracting foreign investment;
- development of export capacity and provision of wide integration of the region's economy into the national and world economy;
- provision of small- and medium-sized business of the Vologda Region;
- modernization and technological renewal of key industries, localization of production, introduction of modern resource saving techniques;
- coordination in development of investment programs;
- development of the proposals for stimulation of export potential development, optimizing foreign trade and payment balances, carrying out preparation of forecasts for the export of goods (works and services).

The trade fair will be held on December 22-24, 2023. Textiles, souvenirs, handicrafts, natural cosmetics, clothing, accessories and food products will be on display at Russky Dom Exhibition Centre.
"The exposition is visited by Russian residents and foreign guests. A delegation from Ethiopia was the first foreign delegation that attended the stand of the Vologda Region. During the first days of the exhibition, about 50.000 people visited the Vologda Region stand," said Georgy Filimonov, Acting Governor of the Vologda Region.
From 1 to 3 November 2023 Kazakhstan International Exhibition "Packaging, Tare, Lable" - QAZPACK 2023 was held in Almaty.
On November 4, the Vologda Region will present its rich tourism potential at VDNH, Moscow where the Russia International Exhibition and Forum begins. An interactive map of the region’s sights will be presented there. It will show locations of attractions and events of interest to tourists.
The biggest industrial exhibition of the Republic of Belarus BelTexIndustry was held on October 25-27.
The Russia International Exhibition and Forum will open in Moscow on November 4, 2023. The regions of the Russian Federation, federal executive bodies, nonprofit organisations, state corporations, and foreign representatives will take part in it.
The trade fair’s visitors will include high-ranking officials, major manufacturers, dealers and distributors looking to explore partnerships and growth opportunities within the market in the Vologda Region.
The Russia International Exhibition and Forum will open on November 4 at VDNH in Moscow. The regions of the Russian Federation, federal executive bodies, nonprofit organisations, state corporations, and foreign representatives will take part in it.
The 28th Mining and Metals Central Asia Exhibition was held from 20 to 22 September in Almaty.
Vologda’s manufacturers are increasing export of products to the Chinese People’s Republic. For 6 months of 2023, the region delivered its products in the amount of USD 9 mln to China, which is 2.5 times more than the same period in 2022.
