Overview
Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of the Vologda Oblast works in accordance with the Clause of the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade. The Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade is the main local government body responsible for carrying out the investment policy, foreign economic activity, trade and economic relations. It is responsible for co-coordinating the activities of federal and regional executive bodies in relation to foreign investment, domestic and international trade, preparing concession agreements and production-sharing agreements, infrastructure development.
The Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade develops and maintains foreign economic relations for the Vologda Oblast fostering partnerships that increase global visibility, cultural understanding and economic growth.
Within its competence, the Ministry performs the following functions:
- investment activity development;
- scientific and innovative activity development;
- Vologda’s trade and economic relations, as well as economic integration with the Russian regions and foreign states;
- control for liquor market of the Vologda Oblast;
- control for observance of normative and legal documents;
- assistance to enterprises and companies of the Vologda Oblast aiming to participate in international exhibitions, fairs, presentations and any other activities;
- preparation of agreements, contracts, memorandums, minutes of deliberations about foreign economic relations;
- organization of events aiming to attracting foreign investment;
- development of export capacity and provision of wide integration of the region's economy into the national and world economy;
- provision of small- and medium-sized business of the Vologda Region;
- modernization and technological renewal of key industries, localization of production, introduction of modern resource saving techniques;
- coordination in development of investment programs;
- development of the proposals for stimulation of export potential development, optimizing foreign trade and payment balances, carrying out preparation of forecasts for the export of goods (works and services).

A delegation of the Vologda Region led by First Deputy Governor Dmitry Gorbachyov took part in the 2023 China (Langfang) International Economic and Trade Fair.
Uzbekistan, China and Kazakhstan are the leading partners of the Vologda Region. The work is carried out within the framework of the regional project "Export of agricultural products" of the national project "International Cooperation and Export".
Ten enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Vologda Region export their products. Since the beginning of the year, Vologda’s products have been exported to 21 countries. Uzbekistan, China, and Kazakhstan are the most active trade partners of the Vologda Region.
Stroimatik, a Cherepovets-based company took part in Contech Vietnam. an international trade fair for construction, building materials, mining, machinery, equipment, technology and infrastructure. It was held at the National Exhibition Construction Centre in Hanoi, April 21-24.
ITM is officially supported by the Russian Federal Agency for tourism and other federal and professional organizations contributing to Russia's travel industry development. The show meets interests of all travel market participants (both Russian and foreign ones).
“100 Best Goods of Russia” contest is the All-Russian Program that selects from the variety of products made in Russia 100 best products by product innovation, economic impact on a national scale, quality management systems and technical regulation. The main objective of the event is to promote high quality Russian products in the market.
XXVI International Specialised Exhibition on Safety and Labour Protection started on December 6 at the Expocentre exhibition grounds in Moscow. It will last till December 9.
