Sveza Group has established a wood procurement company Sveza Resource LLC in the Vologda region. The initial capital is RUB 400 million (approximately EUR 5.7 million *). Wood procurement will start at the end of 2019, with investment of 270 million rubles (about EUR 3.9 million *) this year and a total of 1.5 billion rubles (about EUR 21 million *) by 2028.

PAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has launched a pilot project under the World Steel Association’s (“Worldsteel”) “Step up” programme, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the global steel industry through the introduction of a new methodology. Launched at Severstal’s flagship steel mill in Cherepovets, a study has begun using the Worldsteel benchmarking system to identify opportunities to reduce CO2 emissions from steel production in the near term.

The Living History holiday, dedicated to the 1031th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia, has been held in Fort Ross National Historical Park, which preserves the memory of the first Russian settlement in California. Church services and a sacred procession as well as events dedicated to the history of the fort and Russian America were held during the celebrations, the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Organizations (CCRCO) in the USA reported on its Facebook.
