Vologda Region Governor approves plans to open industrial enterprises in the region. "I support and believe that plans to open a considerable number of enterprises, industrial and construction ones in the second instance, are absolutely justified," the head of the region said. This issue will be in the highlight of a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control in the Vologda Region on June 8th.

27 May is a holiday for Vologda’s lacemakers. This year it is celebrated for the first time. Vologda lace has won deserved fame and world-wide recognition for its high artistic value, rich ornament, and excellent workmanship. The earliest laces, which have reached us, date back to the 17th century. The lace woven from golden and silver threads decorated rich civilian and church garments and was mostly used by the nobility.

The Vologda Region Governor held a videoconference meeting with experts on the development of the coronavirus pandemic and preventive measures. The videoconference meeting was attended by representatives of the World Health Organization, researchers, experts and professionals whose opinion is crucial for the development of the necessary decisions to fight the coronavirus infection.

“Residents of Vologda City and athletes of the region have been waiting for a 25-meter swimming pool for a long time,” said Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov. “I am proud that we were able to implement the project in such a short time, it took eighteen months to put it into operation. The city is incredibly lucky to have a brand new swimming pool.”

At 6.30 pm, Oleg Kuvshinnikov will answer questions concerning novel coronavirus, efforts to combat the coronavirus and disease control measures amid novel coronavirus outbreak. The Governor will brief on new measures to support families in the Russian Federation, citizens who have lost their jobs, and small-businesses hurt by the coronavirus.
