The International Museum Day is celebrated worldwide each year on or around 18 May. The traditional role of museums is to collect objects and materials of cultural, religious and historical importance, preserve them, research into them and present them to the public for the purpose of education and enjoyment.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Russia initially introduced a period of paid ‘non-working’ days from March 30 to April 5. President Putin later extended them until April 30, and then again until May 11.

A new fertility clinic will be commissioned in Vologda in November.
Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov inspected a construction site of a new fertility clinic in the Region. The construction started last year. The Vologda Region received finances from the federal budget for the development of the health care system within the framework of the national project “Healthcare”.
As the period of non-working days announced earlier expired on May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting, via videoconference, on the sanitary and epidemiological situation and new measures to support the country’s population and the national economy.
While celebrations for Victory Day will be different this year, there are still plenty of ways to mark the occasion.
The 9th of May is a special day for all Russian people. This day unites all Russians with a memory of heroic deed of our grandfathers. We must remember what price was paid for it.
May 9th is the main holiday of Russia as a victorious power. On this day Russian people will always honour the feat of heroism of war veterans and grieve for those who fell in action or were tortured to death.
