A delegation from the Vologda Oblast headed by Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov met with a Czech delegation led by Vladimir Remek, Czech ambassador to Russia.

Today the top leadership of the Vologda Region and the Republic of Karelia held a meeting within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The meeting addressed the necessity of signing a cooperative agreement in trade, economic, scientific, social and cultural spheres. Among the significant events that took place during the forum was signing this agreement.

As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Vologda’s Governor had a working meeting with Vagit Alekperov, the president of the leading Russian oil company LUKOIL.

Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Mr. Kuvshinnikov met with top leadership of Sistema, the publicly-traded diversified holding company in Russia and the CIS. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss development of timber industry in the Vologda Region.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is Russia's premier annual event for investment and interaction between business and government. The main events of SPIEF 2016 will take place at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. The venue features thousands of representatives from dozens of countries.

Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Alexei Kozhevnikov met with a delegation from Shandong, a coastal province of the People's Republic of China, and is part of the East China region. The meeting took place in the Vologda Oblast Representative Office in RF President's Administration and RF Government. The main objective of it was to define guidelines for cooperation between the Vologda Oblast, Russia and Shandong, China.

The festival Voices of History, which emerged in 1991 as a review of the performances of professional theatres in the historical and architectural ensemble of the unique environment of the Vologda Kremlin has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region. The theatre festival is held every two years in June. In 2003 it received an international status.

The Vologda Region delegation is led by Oleg Kuvshinnikov, the region’s governor. Participating in the event are high-ranking officials of the Vologda Oblast Government and deputies of the Legislative Council of the Vologda Region.

A delegation from the Vologda Oblast took part in a meeting of the Committee of the International Affairs held within the Days of Vologda in the Federation Council, Moscow on June 14-15.

A delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic led by Deputy Hetman arrived in Vologda to discuss results of the project “Healthy Cities”. The members of the Czech delegation took part in a round-table of the Association of Healthy Cities, Districts and Villages, chaired by Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Vasiliev.
