Acting Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov and Alexander Gurov, head of St. Petersburg Representative Office of Rostec State Corporation will sign an agreement on strategic cooperation.
Rostec, or Russian Technologies State Corporation is one of the largest organisations in Russia, set up to help developers and manufacturers of leading edge high-tech industrial products in the Russian Federation. Rostec represents 663 companies in Russia today. They form 14 holding companies. Eight holding companies operate in the defense-industry complex and five of them are involved in civil sectors. Rostec’s organizations are located in 60 constituents of the Russian Federation and supply goods to over 70 countries worldwide.
During the meeting with the head of St. Petersburg Representative Office of Rostec State Corporation, Mr. Kuvshinnikov said that the Vologda Region is interested in fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation. On August 8, 2014 the Vologda Oblast Government signed a cooperation treaty with OAO Shvabe, one of the general developers of optic and optic-electronic devices and systems for different branches of national economy and defense.
The agreement for a period of 3 years is aimed at development of investment activity and the promotion of productive activities in the sphere of development of optical-electronic industry on the territory of the Vologda Region, modernization and technical renovation of existing facilities, implementation of advanced energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies.
The head of the region briefed on industrial parks located on the territory of the Vologda Oblast. They are entitled to preferential policies as both an economic and technological area and as a national-level high-tech industrial park. The industrial parks encourage the development of industries and businesses which are economically efficient, high in added value and technology intensive.
The participants of the meeting also discussed development of local air services within the North-West of the country.
All these guidelines for cooperation will be touched upon at a meeting of head of the Russian Technologies State Corporation Sergey Chemezov and Acting Governor of Vologda Region Oleg Kuvshinnikov at the Sochi Investment Forum-2014.
