On July 21 and 22, the ancient northern city of Veliky Ustyug will celebrate its 876th birthday.

Veliky Ustyug, located in the north - east of the Vologda Region, Russia’s North-West, turns 876 years old. Celebrations on this occasion will be held on July 21 and 22.

Vologda will host XXVIII international exhibition-fair Russian Forest on December 6-8, 2023.

The Russian Forest is an exhibition for innovation technologies to be applied in the timber industry, in production of technological equipment for forestry and manufacture of wood and wood-working articles.

Over 300 participants are to arrive at Russian Folklore Festival "The Village - the Soul of Russia".

The Village - the Soul of Russia, Russian Folklore Festival will be held in Verkhovazhye District (Vologda Region) on August 4-6.

Artisans from 41 Russian regions, Estonia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia and Armenia took part in the "City of Crafts".

Vologda City played host to the International Folk Crafts Festival “City of Crafts” on June 23-25.

For 6 months of 2023, Vologda Region has delivered products in the amount of USD 9 mln to China.

Vologda’s manufacturers are increasing export of products to the Chinese People’s Republic. For 6 months of 2023, the region delivered its products in the amount of USD 9 mln to China, which is 2.5 times more than the same period in 2022.

Production of trout, sturgeon, whitefish, carp and white amur has increased  by 21%  in the Vologda Region.

In the first half of 2023 fish farms of the region (20 organizations) produced 688 tons of fish, by 21% more compared to the last year figure during the same period.

Vologda’s museums are offering its residents free access to all permanent exhibits on July 19.

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, exhibition halls and galleries are free of charge in the Vologda Region. The museum admission is free for Vologda’s schoolchildren and students and residents of the region. Entry to the permanent collections of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve and Vologda Picture Gallery is free; while charges may apply for special exhibitions.

Vologda Region is set to participate in RUSSIA EXPO.

All subjects of the country will take part in the large-scale federal project which will start in November 2023 and last till April 2024.

Vologda Region took part in the Tastes of Russia gastronomic festival.

The Tastes of Russia gastronomic festival was held in Moscow on July 7-16. It displayed the diversity and flavour of Russia’s national gastronomic traditions, bringing together more than 70 regions of the country.

37,2 tons of Vologda’s ice-cream were delivered to Israel.

Vologda’s ice-cream is notable for natural taste free from vegetable fats and diversity of flavors.
