"About RUB 20 mln rubles were allocated from the regional budget for restoration of the Memorial Museum of Peter I within the framework of the state program "Heritage of the Vologda Region". The work was completed a month ahead of the deadline," said Georgy Filimonov, Acting Governor of the Vologda Region.
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, exhibition halls and galleries are free of charge in the Vologda Region. The museum admission is free for Vologda’s schoolchildren and students and residents of the region. Entry to the permanent collections of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve and Vologda Picture Gallery is free; while charges may apply for special exhibitions.

The stand of the Vologda Region is made in the form of a magic residence of Ded Moroz who lives in Veliky Ustyug, in the northeast corner of the Vologda Region. The exposition is decorated with a large Christmas tree, the throne of the winter wizard and a copy of St. Sophia Cathedral that is situated in the heart of Vologda City.
