Einar Steen-Nøkleberg, a leading Norwegian pianist, president of the Oslo Grieg Society gave a concert in Vologda on October 16.

His international career has included repeated solo recitals in London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow, Mexico City, New York, Hamburg and Copenhagen. He toured the USA and the former Soviet Union several times.

Vologda’s experts took part in an international exhibition of construction materials in Helsinki, Finland.

Nikolai Tsukanov newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary to Northwestern Federal District arrived in Vologda.

On a visit to the Vologda Region, Mr. Tsukanov held a meeting with the top leadership of the Vologda Oblast Government and discussed issues concerning development of the road network. To increase road capacity, improve transport infrastructure and reduce accidents – these issues were indicated as priorities for Vologda and Russia as a whole.

VOICES festival will move from Vologda, an old Russian city in northwestern Russia, to St. Petersburg.
