A children's technology park "Quantorium" will be open in Cherepovets, Vologda Region on September 6.

The Vologda Region is among 17 entities of the Russian Federation where child science parks will be opened in the nearest future. Last year the RF Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate about one million roubles for construction of child science parks in 17 Russian regions.

The ancient northern city of Veliky Ustyug celebrates its 870th anniversary.

Veliky Ustyug, located in the Vologda Oblast, Russia’s North-West, turns 870 years old. The celebration of the 870th anniversary of its founding began on July 20th. The program included numerous events.

On July 20th, Deputy Governor, Head of Department of Finance Valentina Artamonova met with journalists of the Vologda Region.

A press breakfast was held as part of a series of meetings of Vologda’s journalists with top leadership of the Vologda Oblast Government.

On July 19, Wolf Mail, a Canadian blues rock guitarist and singer will play a concert in Northern Russia's cultural capital -Vologda.

Wolf Mail began playing the guitar at the age of 10, heavily influenced by Elmore James and John Lee Hooker. Later, Mail received some guitar lessons from David Goodman, and went on to perform his first gig at 14. He left home at 17 to tour with his own band.

The Vologda Region is nominated for an award at the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017 in Ecological Vacation in Russia nomination. Winners will be decided through online voting on the website of the National Geographic Russia magazine.

Vologda Lace Museum received new exhibits from Switzerland.

Appropriately located near the most ancient architectural ensemble - the picturesque Vologda Kremlin, the Vologda Lace Museum was opened in autumn 2010.

Russian town of Tot’ma (Vologda Region) will celebrate 205th anniversary of Fort Ross, Russian colony in California on August 11-13.

The event is timed to coincide with celebrations of 880th anniversary of Tot’ma City. On this day Tot’ma will celebrate Russian America Day at the same time as Fort Ross in northern California, once the southernmost outpost of the Russian empire on the coast of northern California and founded by Tot’ma native Ivan Kuskov in 1812.
