Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov attended memorial ceremonies marking the 73rd anniversary of full liberation of the Soviet Union from Nazi siege.
The 9th of May is a special day for all Russian people. This day unites all Russians with a memory of heroic deed of our grandfathers. This day remembers the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II and honours soldiers and officers who died in the war.
The ceremony opened as the National Flag, the President’s Standard, the Russian Constitution and the President’s Badge were brought into St Andrew’s Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, Moscow.
Vologda will host the International Folk Crafts Festival “City of Crafts” on June 29-July 1, 2018.
Applications from artisans are received in the following categories - traditional female crafts, wooden and birch bark craft painting, valenki (kind of felt boots), wood engraving and wicker-work, blacksmithing, potter's craft and forgotten handicrafts.
