Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov took part in a meeting of the All-Russia People's Front (ONF).

In his opening speech, the Governor stressed that in the years to come the Vologda Region is to implement a number of projects improving people's quality of life. “These are construction of new schools, medical institutions and kindergartens, repair of roads and construction of bridges”, Oleg Kuvshinnikov said.

VII International music competition named after Valery Gavrilin will be held in Vologda on April 22-27.

The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.

Exhibition of Vologda’s laces kicked off in Gomel, Belarus.

The exhibition of Vologda’s lace started in Gomel on March 6 and it will last till April, 28.

Gates to the North, an inter-regional event, show and exhibition for the tourism industry will start in Vologda on April 12.

It is held annually with an active backing of the Vologda Oblast Government. The venue of the Gates to the North is the Exhibition Centre "Russky Dom".

Shacara Rogers, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), will sing in Vologda on March 28.

Vocalist and pianist Shacara Rogers has been performing since the age of five. She holds a Master’s in music (2014) and a Bachelor’s in music (2012) from Howard University. Ms. Rogers is a 2014 graduate of the Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program. Shacara is currently an adjunct professor of music at Howard University, teaching jazz voice.
