Vocalist and pianist Shacara Rogers has been performing since the age of five. She holds a Master’s in music (2014) and a Bachelor’s in music (2012) from Howard University. Ms. Rogers is a 2014 graduate of the Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program. Shacara is currently an adjunct professor of music at Howard University, teaching jazz voice.
The scientific seminar “Preservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage in Russia and the USA” took place in the Vologda State University. It was arranged prior to an international conference devoted to the past, present and future of Russian America “US-Russian Fort Ross Dialogue” that will be held in Vologda in summer.

In his opening speech, the Governor stressed that in the years to come the Vologda Region is to implement a number of projects improving people's quality of life. “These are construction of new schools, medical institutions and kindergartens, repair of roads and construction of bridges”, Oleg Kuvshinnikov said.
