Vologda Region exported more than 1.2 mln cu m of timber in 2024.
According to the preliminary results of 2024, 1 million 276 thousand cubic meters of timber harvested by Vologda's enterprises were exported to foreign countries.

Ded Moroz Train is to arrive in Vologda tomorrow.
In 2024, the Ded Moroz Train set off for a New Year journey on November 19. The train stopped at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Chita, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg and other cities.

"Winter of the Russian North" project will cover over 700 events.
New Year holidays are a time for good traditions. A large-scale project "Winter of the Russian North" was launched on the initiative of Governor Georgy Filimonov. Numerous events covering different genres and styles of music, crafts and theatre will be held within the framework of the "Winter of the Russian North" project.
Vologda’s squares and streets are adorned with New Year decorations and are ready to host a variety of events both for adults and children.
The Ded Moroz Train is a joint project between OJSC Russian Railways and the Vologda Region Government. The project enables Ded Moroz to visit many of the country’s cities and present a festive New Year’s programme.
During a meeting with members of Vologda Region Government, Georgy Filimonov assessed the results and prospects for development of international cooperation.
