A special economic zone will be created in Vologda Region.
Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov stated that the status of a special economic zone was documented by the decision of the working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
Vologda’s companies develop partnership ties within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export" initiated by RF President Vladimir Putin.
The Vologda Region is a highly-developed industrial region, which has a network of transport and energy infrastructure, stable ratings of investment attractiveness and solvency.
A regional branch of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship will appear in the Vologda Region. Its opening is scheduled for February 19 at Cherepovets State University.

Glass manufacturing industry of the Vologda Oblast is represented by the following large enterprises: OOO Chagoda glass-works and Co, and an affiliate of Ruscam Glass Packaging Holding.
International Exhibition PRODEXPO-2025 came to an end in Moscow. Prodexpo, an International Exhibition for Food, Beverages, Food Raw Materials was held in Moscow on February 3-7.
In January 2025, 974 cubic meters of glued plywood were exported from the Vologda Region to Iraq, China and South Africa.
Recently, the Vologda Region has exported 88 tons of technical fat to Poland.
