On August 12-14 Totma will celebrate a traditional Day of Russian Columbus.

This weekend, Totma, located in the eastern part of the Vologda Oblast will mark its 885-year anniversary and celebrate a traditional Day of Russian Columbus.

IX All-Russian Belov Readings devoted to 90th anniversary of the writer Vasily Belov will open on October 17.

The founders of the Belov Readings are the Government of the Vologda Region and the Vologda City Administration.

1000 days of continuous work: construction of a bridge in Cherepovets is completed.

It took 1000 days and nights to build the Arkhangelsk road bridge in Cherepovets over the Sheksna River. The largest infrastructure project of Cherepovets will open to traffic in August this year.

Days of VOICES Festival will open in the beautiful Russian city of Vologda on August 25.

Days of VOICES, a special programme of Festival VOICES (VOlogda Independent Cinema from European Screens) will be held in Vologda on August 25-28. It will include 25 full-length and short films. The event will be supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Blacksmiths from Russian regions will arrive in Ustyuzhna to take part in a Blacksmith Festival.

The Blacksmith Festival takes place annually in August. This year it will be held on August 5-6.

Vologda will host the 27th international exhibition-fair "Russian Forest" from December 7 through 9, 2022.

About 2000 people visited Victory Train celebrating the 75th Anniversary  of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Vologda.

The Victory Train, an immersive museum of the Great Patriotic War consisting of nine railcars, stayed in Vologda on July 27-28. This unique historical museum keeps the memory of those who defended our country during the Great Patriotic War.

Cherepovets has made it into the top 10 Russia’s single-industry cities that showed a high level of socio-economic development in 2021.

The 10 best single-industry cities (monocities) of Russia are Mendeleevsk, Naberezhnye Chelny (Republic of Tatarstan), Togliatti (Samara Region), Tulun (Irkutsk Region), Gubkin (Belgorod Region), Pavlovsk (Voronezh Region), Cherepovets (Vologda Region), Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Territory). Blagoveshchensk (Republic of Bashkortostan) and Kirovsk (Murmansk Region).
