Immortal Regiment action to be held from balconies in Vologda Region
Russian President Vladimir Putin has postponed the 9 May Victory Day celebrations in Russia because of the coronavirus pandemic.
This year sees the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, and the annual military parade and Immortal Regiment march have not been postponed before.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov told Vologda’s schoolchildren about the historical facts of the Great Patriotic war and the contribution of Vologda Region’s citizens to the victory. The Governor also spoke the heroic deeds of his grandfathers on the front lines.
Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov held a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control in the Vologda Region. During the meeting, he announced additional steps aiming to support small and medium-sized businesses of the most affected sectors.

12 new school buses were received in 7 districts of Vologda Region.
Schoolchildren in the Vologda Region will be riding on brand new school buses thanks to the Governor’s programme “School Bus”.
Two Vologda’s companies will provide the social and industrial enterprises of the region with air purification devices that kill viruses and bacteria due to UV disinfection. In two weeks, the enterprises will manufacture the first batch of 40 pieces. Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov paid a working visit to the enterprises.

Vologda Region Governor paid a working visit to Cherepovets.
There have been 45 cases of coronavirus infections reported in the Vologda Region so far (the number of coronavirus cases in Cherepovets now stands at 38). Thus, the main objective of the Governor’s visit to Cherepovets was to inspect the work of sanitary checkpoints and the railway station. He also held a meeting with doctors and other health care providers, and chaired a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control.
At 6.30 pm, Oleg Kuvshinnikov will answer questions about financial support for doctors and paramedical staff who treat coronavirus patients, new measures to support families in the Russian Federation, citizens who have lost their jobs, and small-businesses hurt by the coronavirus. All the initiatives introduced by the RF President center are being implemented in the region and new ones are being developed based on the specifics of the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the region.
On April 8th Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting, via videoconference, with heads of Russian regions on combatting the spread of the novel coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation.
