Doctors, physician practices and other health care providers treating coronavirus patients will get financial help during the coronavirus pandemic.

The federal government has taken steps to provide additional financial assistance to doctors and paramedical staff working to treat patients infected with the virus.

Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov announced measures to support businesses affected by the pandemic.

Vologda Region’s schools switch to distance learning

Taking into account the adverse epidemiological situation, the local government called on schools to move all class instruction to online and remote learning. Russia's Science and Higher Education Ministry recommended that educational institutions switch to distance learning from Monday, April 6th.

A strict self-isolation regime has started in Vologda Region.

Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov has announced strict measures against coronavirus spreading in the region. It is advised that a person should leave home only to buy food and medicine. Special passes for commuting in the region are coming soon.

The regions themselves will decide which regime they prefer and which institutions and organisations should suspend their activities or can continue working.

Labs in the region's hospitals to test samples for coronavirus

“Two labs in Vologda and Cherepovets are ready to test samples for coronavirus”, Vologda Region Governor said. The laboratories testing for the respiratory coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been equipped in the shortest possible time.

Decision on total control of all public transportation using the region as a transit  was made at the meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control in the Vologda Region.

Goverrnor Oleg Kuvshinnikov stressed that these stringent measures will affect transportation arriving in the Vologda Region from other regions and passing through the territory of the region. The Vologda Regions steps up disease control measures amid novel coronavirus outbreak.

Vologda’s volunteers rally for elderly people quarantined in their homes.

A volunteer centre has been established in the Vologda Region with headquarters in all municipal districts. The centre has recruited more than 250 people to care for senior citizens who have been told to stay at home. If needed, about 1,250 more people are ready to join the work.

Vologda Region Governor Mr. Kuvshinnikov briefed on facilities of the region for reliable and trouble-free passage of spring high water.

Top leadership of the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology and local government authorities discussed readiness of some Russian regions for reliable and accident-free passage of snowmelt floods and flood waters. The meeting was held via a video conference on March 31.

Vologda Region orders region-wide quarantine starting March 31.

The Vologda Region will enact an indefinite region-wide quarantine starting Tuesday, Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov said during the meeting of the local government. The region reported two cases of the coronavirus in Cherepovets City.
