Vologda’s Governor opened a new kindergarten in Vytegra District.

The significant event occurred in the District of Vytegra - the opening of a new kindergarten. The preschool institution is designed for 220 places. The new 3-storey day care centre will become home for several groups of kids from eighteen months and six years of age. The new kindergarten is accommodated with musical and sports halls, sports grounds, and a swimming pool.
The construction of the kindergarten under public private partnerships cost RUR 170 million (RUR 30 million was allocated by a local joint-stock company).
Mr. Kuvshinnikov noted that in the Vologda Region there is a positive trend in the birth rate and population migration. The demand for places in kindergartens is high because many parents want their 2- and 3-year-olds educated in institutions whose sole purpose is education. Vologda’s Governor said that over the last three years the region built 9 new nursery schools (which comes to more than 7000 new spots), and 38 day care centres were renovated.
According to the top leadership of the Vologda Oblast, availability of places in preschool institutions for children from 3 to 7 years old in our region is 100 percent. By RF President's decree, municipalities are required to guarantee all children at least 3 years of age a spot in a nursery school.
