Vologda’s Governor children's drawing contest came to a close.

The Vologda Region Governor's Children’s Art Contest is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Vologda Region.
The purpose of the contest is to provide all budding young artists of the region with opportunities to advance their talent, experiencing the process of entering their work in a competition. The exhibition is a valuable incentive for young people; it encourages an appreciation for the arts throughout the Vologda Region and reflects the fine quality of art instruction and talent which exist in the region.
The art contest showcasing the amazing artistic talents of the youth in our region lasted for two months. Children in the 3-to-14 age bracket submitted their artwork to the contest, illustrating the landscapes, architecture and cultural traditions of the Vologda Oblast. The winning artists in different categories received various notable prizes. The 1st prize-winner received a complimentary ticket to the residence of Ded Moroz, Russia’s equivalent to Santa Claus.
