Vologda Oblast Government and Novo Nordisk (Denmark) signed a cooperation agreement.

Acting Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov and General Manager of Novo Nordisk Henrik Bendix Dahl signed a cooperation agreement in Vologda today.
Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. The company also has leading positions within haemophilia care, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy. Headquartered in Denmark, Novo Nordisk employs over 38,000 employees in 75 affiliates, and markets its products in more than 180 countries.
The representative office of the company was opened in Moscow in 1991 and currently there are more than 200 employees working in Russia.
The principles of corporate social responsibility are an integral part of the company’s worldwide development strategy. Novo Nordisk seeks to contribute to the development of diabetes care and improvement in peoples’ health in every country in which it operates.
Diabetes is a chronic disease in which a person's blood sugar levels are higher than normal. It affects over 38,000 residents of the Vologda Oblast, and if not carefully monitored, can lead to heart and kidney disease, stroke, blindness, amputation, and other serious health conditions.
Novo Nordisk has been maintaining beneficial cooperation with the health care system of the Vologda Region for over 20 years. Delivery of pharmaceutical preparations over the last 10 years has increased from 17 million to 110 million rubles.
Novo Nordisk pays special attention to diabetes education. Its diabetes education program is aiming to reduce the risk of long-term complications and help people live a healthier life.
Under the agreement signed today, Novo Nordisk will launch diabetes centres in three cities of the Vologda Region – Cherepovets, Vologda and Veliky Ustyug.
