Vologda Oblast among the winners of Russian contest of regional modernization programs.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov confirmed that the Vologda Region will receive RUR 13 mln from the federal budget to develop professional education system.
Under the document signed by Prime-Minister Dmitry Medvedev over one billion rubles will be allocated to 45 Russian regions, Vologda Oblast among them.
The finances will go to upgrade physical and technical requirements of college infrastructure development, personnel training, employment of graduates and new education programmes.
Early in December 2013 Andrey Guryev, Director General of PhosAgro-Cherepovets and Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Vologda’s Governor signed a cooperation agreement in Moscow. The agreement concerned cooperation in modernization of tertiary education and personnel training for chemical industry.
To support training for staff to work at this high-tech facility and other subsidiaries of PhosAgro-Cherepovets, PhosAgro and the Vologda Oblast Government supported the establishment of a Chemical-Technical College and a Faculty of Inorganic Substances and Fertilizers Technology at Cherepovets State University.
In addition to it, in January 2014 the agreement aiming to improve the system of professional education for metallurgical complex was signed by Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and Head of Severstal Russian Steel Division Sergei Toropov.
Severstal actively cooperates with educational institutions in the area of primary and secondary professional education. The Company has developed an ongoing labor force training system that allows one to master required knowledge and skills, develop and improve professional qualifications that are needed by the businesses.
OAO Severstal trains at the Company's training centers and laboratories, on-the-job and at specialized educational institutions. Since 2011 the Company has already allocated over RUR 160 mln to train and retrain personnel of the OAO Severstal that gives a great opportunity for professional networking. Employees trained by the Company receive refresher training of sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies.
The Company gives the labor force an opportunity to improve their qualifications, enhance their professional skills: to walk up the qualification staircase, master supplementary related jobs, learn a new, more sophisticated job and to advance professionally.
According to the agreement signed today OAO Severstal will invest about RUR 53 mln from January 1, 2014 up to December 31, 2015.
