Vladimir Putin awards city of labor valor title to Vologda.

On November 15th Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the honorary title of City of Labor Valor to Vologda City.
According to the decree, Vologda City was awarded the title "for the significant contribution of city residents to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, while showing mass labor heroism and dedication."
"During the Great Patriotic War Vologda’s residents worked hard to provide the frontline with everything necessary. More than 100 items of military products were produced here (mortars, shells, ammunition and uniforms), wagons were repaired. This is a high assessment of the labor feat and dedication of our countrymen. The presidential decision has historical significance for all Vologda’s residents. The honorary title was awarded in the year of the 875th anniversary of Vologda. The city will develop and prosper, keeping the memory of its heroes," said Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
