Vologda Region to open schools on September 1.

Classes in schools in the Vologda Region will begin on September 1 in the form of full-time education, Vologda Region Governor Mr. Kuvshinnikov says.
The Governor has announced that classes will start in full time education format from September 1, in compliance with sanitary safety measures.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Government members on the preparation of educational institutions for the new school year on August 11.
Schools, colleges and universities across the region will re-open for the new school year on Sept. 1. “All coronavirus safety requirements will be taken into account in order to protect children and teachers as much as possible," the Governor said at a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control.
The Vologda Region Governor said: "We have set out the controls schools should use, including cleaning and hygiene measures, to substantially reduce the risk of transmission of the virus when they open to all children from September." Reopening of schools in September should be done hand in hand with aggressive testing of students and appropriate social distancing, such as eliminating assemblies and possibly fall sports, Mr. Kuvshinnikov said. The students will have their temperatures checked at school gates.
Face-to-face classes for children and adults at sports, musical and art schools and other courses will also reopen. Educational institutions of extra-curricular activity in the Vologda Region will open on August 18. Schools will operate safely in accordance with the guidelines.
However, it is still necessary to wear masks and gloves on public transport, in medical institutions, shops and other public places. Social distancing must also be maintained.
