Vologda Region is stepping up cooperation with Slovenia.

Within the framework of the 21st St. Petersburg Economic Forum Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov held negotiations with Zdravko Počivalšek, Slovenia’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology.
The meeting addressed the possibility and necessity of signing new agreements on mutual cooperation between the Vologda Region and Slovenia.
According to the Vologda Oblast Governor, the presentation of economic, investment, cultural and tourism potential of the Vologda Region held in Ljubljana, the Republic of Slovenia a year ago boosted partnership ties between the parties. On a visit to the Republic of Slovenia, Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov had meetings with Slovenian National Council President Mitja Bervar and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Aleš Cantarutti. Vologda Oblast Governor and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Aleš Cantarutti defined guidelines for mutually-beneficial cooperation between the Vologda Region and Slovenia.
Zdravko Počivalšek underlined that the Slovenian economy is export-oriented, and the majority its deliveries is supplied to Russia. “I am very glad to meet you and I am convinced that we will expand our trade relations. In addition to it, tourism can boost cooperation with the Vologda Region. Our holiday centres are well-known in the world and we would like to see tourists from Vologda Region there,” summed up Slovenia’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology.
