Vologda Oblast Government and OAO Severstal sign cooperation agreement

The agreement aiming to improve the system of professional education for metallurgical complex was signed by Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and Head of Severstal Russian Steel Division Sergei Toropov.
Severstal actively cooperates with educational institutions in the area of primary and secondary professional education. The Company has developed an ongoing labor force training system that allows one to master required knowledge and skills, develop and improve professional qualifications that are needed by the businesses.
OAO Severstal trains at the Company's training centers and laboratories, on-the-job and at specialized educational institutions. Since 2011 the Company has already allocated over RUR 160 mln to train and retrain personnel of the OAO Severstal that gives a great opportunity for professional networking. Employees trained by the Company receive refresher training of sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies.
The Company gives the labor force an opportunity to improve their qualifications, enhance their professional skills: to walk up the qualification staircase, master supplementary related jobs, learn a new, more sophisticated job and to advance professionally.
According to the agreement signed today OAO Severstal will invest about RUR 53 mln from January 1, 2014 up to December 31, 2015.
