The idea of building two new polyclinics was supported by the President of the country during his visit to Cherepovets in February 2020. Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov asked Vladimir Putin to help with the initiative.
Construction of healthcare facilities in Zasheksninsky Area of Cherepovets and in Byvalovo Area of Vologda will begin in 2022. The federal budget will allot finances to authorize expenditures for these purposes.
A package of documents, including design and estimate documentation and a conclusion of the state expert examination is the first step. Tenders to select contractors started on March 17 and should be completed by early May.
A new polyclinic in Vologda will admit about 600 patients per day while a new healthcare facility in Cherepovets will become one of the biggest polyclinics with averagely 800 patients per day. The polyclinics will be put into operation in 2024.
Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov also noted that RUR 5,4 billion will be allocated to implement regional programs aimed at modernization of primary health care facilities. The money will be spent on equipment and vehicles, as well as on major repairs and construction of first-aid stations and outpatient clinics.
“I am sure that all these new modern facilities, together with federal and regional support, will allow us to solve the main task that the President sets for us - to provide higher-quality primary medical care for all residents," Oleg Kuvshinnikov said.
