A project under the heading “New Year Capital” was launched in Russia two years ago. It was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in 2013. Kazan was chosen as the first such capital. Every year a board of experts will select such capital, where the New Year will be celebrated in a special way, because every Russian city has its own traditions of celebrating. The All-Russian project “New Year Capital of Russia” is designed to stimulate the development of domestic tourism.

The joint session of the State Council and the Presidential Council for Culture and Art chaired by RF President was devoted to implementation of the state cultural policy.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov presented orders, medals and honorary title certificates to outstanding Vologda's residents for their tangible contribution to socio-economic development of the region.
The document is aimed at the establishment of direct business contacts between companies and enterprises of the Vologda Region and some provinces of China that are interested in mutual cooperation. It will be held with the active participation of the Greenwood Business Park in Moscow.
Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov welcomed the participants of the meeting. He underlined that the unified state system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations created 20 years ago is a modern, powerful and mobile structure that can effectively address priority rescue tasks and can also provide first aid.
The city of Vologda is recognized as the official New Year capital of Russia’s North.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov chaired a meeting of the Investment Council today.
The Annual Address of Mr. Putin is to begin at midday in the Kremlin’s St George Hall with around 1100 people invited to attend.
“For more than a decade Vologda gathers industry professionals, representatives of government bodies, forestry business experts, scientists and public figures. I wish all the guests of the international exhibition "Russian Wood" effective dialogue, fruitful exchange of experiences, new projects and plans”, said Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
