On October 17th Vologda Region Governor visited District of Ust'-Kubinskoye.

Oleg Kuvshinnikov arrived in Ust’ye to inspect economic and social development of the district, the most important infrastructure facilities of the district and to get acquainted with the plans for their development.
The district is located on the banks of the Kubena River close to its confluence with Lake Kubenskoye. The district boasts a very advantageous geographic location. It borders on the districts of Kharovsk, Vozhega, Vologda, Sokol and Kirillov within the Vologda Region.
The settlement of Ust’ye is known since 1570. Due to the location on one of the trading routes connecting the basins of the Northern Dvina and the Volga, and in the mouth of the Kubena, Ust’ye became a prosperous settlement. It was also a gateway for the pilgrims heading to Spaso-Kamenny Monastery.
The program of the Governor’s visit was extensive. It included inspection of water supply and sanitation facilities, a kindergarten, a cultural centre, a bridge and roads of the district, and participation in a meeting of the City Planning Council.
The visit of Oleg Kuvshinnikov to the District of Ust'-Kubinskoye wound up with a meeting with the population of the district.
